Yes, at Curtis' Chicken and Chips we have over thirty years of grilling and frying the best chicken in St. John's. You can rest assured when you eat with us, that our chicken is fresh, it's raised locally, and all our batters are 100% made in-house from naturally grown ingredients. ...And as mom would say: "Curtis wouldn't have it any other way"!
At our restaurant in the Fall River Plaza, located at 320 Torbay Road in St. John's, we have seating for approximately 25 people. That being the case, the most popular way our many customers enjoy Curtis' great chicken recipies is through phone orders where they do pick-up, or take advantage of our delivery option, offered via our take-out menu. Currently, with our new website, as before, you can access our full selection from the phone-in menu. However, recently we've started experimenting with a new, online-direct, form-order menu. Since it's still in its experimental phase of being tested, as of December 2018, it only carries a sample of our most popular dishes. However, if everything goes as planned, before long, you'll be able to directly place an order from our new complete form-order menu in the comfort of your computer chair.
Our History:
The story started in 1984 when Curtis Baggs bought a fourty acre chicken farm near Holyrood. With two family recipies, he saw an opportunity to feed others with delicious grilled and fried chicken. Motivated by his love for his mother's cooking and an entrepreneurial spirit, he opened his first small takeout location in Holyrood in June, 1986. Originally known as the Holyrood Chicken Feeder Take Out, he developed a sizable clientele there, but was unfortunately forced to move when the building was sold. In August of 1991, Curtis decided he would move his eatery to St. John's.
We've operated out of the Fall River Plaza ever since, where many people now consider us, a St. John's institution!
